Footprint

Not all filters are created equal when it comes to their physical size compared to the amount of water they can filter.

For example, a screen filter can filter 300 m3/hr (1,320 gpm) in just 2 x 1 m (6’ x 3’) of space. A media system capable of providing the same flow would require 4 x 36” tanks in an array, more than double the footprint compared to the screen filter.

The footprint becomes more of a consideration the larger your flow requirement is. Aside from the physical space required, there will be additional capital works to build infrastructure.
