Gvat, Israel and Moscow, Russia –
Rivulis, a global micro irrigation solutions innovator and POLYPLASTIC Group, the CIS’s largest plastic pipe manufacturer for the infrastructure and agriculture sectors, announced today that they signed a definitive agreement to establish a joint venture in Russia, becoming the first Tier 1 commercial and manufacturing micro irrigation operations in Russia.
The joint venture will combine the POLYPLASTIC Group’s established brand, expertise in plastic pipeline and infrastructure solutions and wide network of manufacturing facilities and sourcing capabilities with Rivulis’ experience as pioneers of the micro irrigation industry, comprehensive product portfolio and ability to deliver complete turnkey projects, to increase the adoption of micro irrigation across Russia.
“Rivulis is proud to join forces with the POLYPLASTIC Group to create the first major multi-national micro irrigation company in Russia,” says Richard Klapholz, CEO of Rivulis. “Expanding our global footprint with manufacturing and distribution capabilities in Russia supports our vision of making micro irrigation accessible globally. We look forward to working together to help better serve the Russian grower community.”
The POLYPLASTIC Rivulis Irrigation Systems joint venture company will set up a local drip line manufacturing facility and warehouse in Volzhskiy, just outside of Volgograd, in the largest agriculture zone in Russia. The joint venture will market and sell Rivulis and Eurodrip products and services as well as relevant POLYPLASTIC pipes. It will commence operations in the spring of 2019.
“As the leading plastic pipe manufacturer in the region, the collaboration is a natural extension of our product portfolio in the agriculture market,” says Miron Gorilovskiy, President of the POLYPLASTIC Group. “Both companies are deeply committed to the Russian market and share the same values of providing high quality products and a full range of solutions.”
Given the region’s strategic focus on agriculture, the POLYPLASTIC Rivulis Irrigation Systems company will lead the transformation of the local agriculture market by improving the irrigation technology and services available to the Russian grower community.
“Beyond establishing a manufacturing facility, the fully local entity will have dedicated management, marketing, sales and support teams. In conjunction with our strong Russian distribution partner network, we will be closer to our customers and better able to help them grow beyond their capabilities today and achieve their future goals,” says Vassilis Kykrilis, General Manager of Rivulis’ Eastern Europe & Middle East Business Unit.
