Global Irrigation Leader Rivulis Announces Opening of Largest, State-of-the-Art Micro Irrigation Manufacturing Facility in North America
Expands production capacity of the Rivulis T-Tape while upholding industry-leading quality and sustainability standards
Singapore – (September 5, 2024) Rivulis Pte. Ltd. (“Rivulis”), a global leader in advanced irrigation and climate solutions, today announced the opening of the largest micro-irrigation production facility in North America to increase production capacity as the demand for resource-conscious irrigation solutions climbs. The addition of this new site exemplifies Rivulis’ commitment to deliver products and grower support to the expanding market while adhering to quality and sustainability measures across its supply chain.
The 160,000-square-foot site in Tijuana, Mexico, was designed with the future in mind to not only meet today’s customer needs, but with production and office space capacity to enable further growth. The facility will produce Rivulis’s leading T-Tape products, known for their high standard performance in water application, flow rate uniformity, clogging resistance and materials strength growers have relied on for nearly four decades.
“For over 80 years, farmers have chosen Rivulis to deliver the high-quality, effective products needed for the cultivation of seasonal, high-value crops while being responsible water stewards. Our positive impact can be felt at the farm-level, and we take great strides so that our impact is not felt in the broader environment,” said Eran Ossmy, President of the Micro Irrigation Division at Rivulis. “We are proud to be an important piece of the puzzle to feed our growing population, sustainably and responsibly.”
The new production facility is expected to create approximately 200 new production specialist jobs to the local community, with potential for additional job opportunities with the expansion of the facility in the future.
“As we open this new factory, we remain committed to delivering the reliable T-Tape farmers trust, while continuing to innovate to meet evolving farmers’ needs and support our mission of feeding the world,” said Vassilis Kykrilis, President of the Operations Division at Rivulis. “This latest facility embodies our values and expands our production footprint to competitively service farmers of all sizes in the Americas.”
The factory includes new, advanced film processing technology which stands to improve product performance even further and incorporate more recycled content, with the aim to achieve a goal of at least 50 percent recycled material be used in the production of select T-Tapes. Materials used in this facility will flow through the new, to-be-announced Rivulis recycling center which will collect used drip tapes from farmers’ fields. Additionally, Rivulis remains committed to environmental sustainability, with plan to recycle 100 percent of plastic scraps created in the production process.
